Membangun Jiwa yang Tidak Takut dan Tidak Khawatir

Menurut  Islam kehidupan manusia harus dibangun berdasarkan tauhid. Tauhid juga menyatukan antara ucapan dan pikiran. Karena itu segala bentuk pandangan hidup dan sikap harus pula dilandasi oleh keyakinan tauhid. Inilah yang membuat setiap muslim menjadi istiqamah (konsisten).

Sikap lurus ini dilahirkan dan sekaligus merupakan pancaran dari keyakinan akan kebenaran yang dikandung  ajaran Islam.  Bagi umat Islam yang utama adalah menjaga diri (taqwa). Yakni  memelihara kehidupan agar senantiasa taat dan patuh kepada Allah. Mereka yang konsisiten seperti ini tidak pernah takut dan ragu, dan inilah yang membuatnya hidup tenang dan sejahtera. Allah berfirman dalam surat Fushshilat: Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang mengatakan: “Tuhan kami ialah Allah”, kemudian mereka meneguhkan pendirian mereka, maka malaikat akan turun kepada mereka (dengan mengatakan) “Janganlah kamu merasa takut, dan janganlah kamu merasa sedih, dan bergembiralah dengan syurga yang telah dijanjikan Allah kepadamu”. (Q.S. Fushshilat: 30).

Demikian janji Allah bagi orang-orang yang konsisten terhadap kebenaran yang diyakini dan diperjuangkannya. Sungguhpun perjuangan itu berat, tetapi bagi orang-orang yang konsisten terhadap keyakinan dan perjuangannya akan mendapatkan balasan yang setimpal. Mereka inilah yang disebut juga sebagai orang-orang yang berpendirian, yang memiliki sikap dan tidak latah. Sementara mereka yang hatinya tidak Istiqamah, labil dan mudah tergoyahkan yang pendiriannya bolak-balik, tergantung kepada angin bertiup, maka kehidupannya tidak akan tenteram, karena mudah dipermainkan oleh keinginan dan hasrat yang tidak pasti. Orang seperti ini batinnya juga tersiksa, karena tidak punya pendirian dan tidak pula punya perjuangan, sehingga akhirnya tidak punya pilihan yang pasti.

Orang-orang yang hatinya lurus, istiqamah,  adalah mereka berperan sebagai subyek, yang menentukan jalan hidupnya sesuai keyakinanya sendiri, dan tidak ditentukan orang lain. Sebaliknya, orang-orang yang tidak punya pendirian, dan mudah menyesuaikan hidupnya dengan keinginan orang lain adalah sebagai obyek. Kemampuan hidup sebagai obyek adalah bentuk pertahanan diri yang paling rapuh. Sebab, seseorang yang menyesuaikan dirinya dengan kehendak orang lain – tanpa dasar keyakinan yang pasti dari dirinya sendiri —  pada dasarnya karena ia tidak mampu mengubah realitas, dan ia diliputi oleh ketakutan dan keraguan. Gejala seperti ini juga  disebut  gejala dehumanisasi.

Manusia yang berpendirian teguh  mampu melakukan hubungan dengan dunia dan dapat mengubah realitas, sesuai dengan ketauhidannya. Sebab di situ, ia dapat menanggapi tantangan-tantangannya dan akhirnya hidup dinamis, yang secara bertahap mampu melakukan perubahan-perubahan. Sementara mereka yang hidupnya sebagai obyek tenggelam dalam realitas dan tidak mampu melakukan perubahan. Ia pasrah terhadap keadaan, tanpa memahami ujung-pangkalnya, mengapa ia begitu adanya.

Manusia yang beriman dan konsisten memainkan peranan yang menentukan dalam mewujudkan garis perjuangan untuk transformasi. Dapat tidaknya seseorang menangkap tema-tema zamannya, dan terutama bagaimana ia menangani realitas yang melahirkan tema-tema itu, sebagian besar akan menentukan apakah ia mengalami humanisasi atau dehumanisasi, pengukuhan sebagai subyek atau pemerosotan sebagai obyek. Hanya bila manusia mampu menangkap tema-tema zamannya, ia kan dapat campur tangan dalam menangani realitas, tidak lagi tinggal diam sebagai penonton semata-mata. Dan hanya dengan terus menerus mengembangkan sikap kritis, dan bekerja bersama kita dapat mengatasi kecenderungan deterministis dan mengubah dunia yang sudah terkotak-kotak yang penuh dengan mitos-mitos yang diciptakan oleh kekuatan-kekutan sosial yang penuh kuasa ini menjadi dunia yang religius dan beradab yang dapat melahirkan kesejahteraan dan persaudaraan di antara sesama kaum beriman.

Hati yang Istiqamah tidak akan pasif menangkap dan memahami realitas kehidupan ini. Mereka akan selalu aktif dan kritis dengan berjuang yang terus menerus untuk menentukan perubahan. Sebab orang-orang seperti ini tidak pernah takut dan ragu. Allah berfirman dalam surat Al-Ahqaaf ayat 13: “Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang mengatakan: “Tuhan kami adalah Allah”, kemudian mereka tetap istiqamah, maka tidak ada kekhawatiran terhadap mereka, dan mereka tiada (pula) berduka cita.”

Hati dan keyakinan yang istiqamah membangun pendirian yang teguh, dan kuat. Ia tidak takut dan khawatir terhadap tantangan dan permasalahan kehidupannya. Dan terus berjuang, karena keimanan itu memerlukan perwujudan amal salih yang juga harus merefleksikan tatanan kehidupan atas buah perjuangan visi – misi keimanannya.***
